Cardamom Wholesale Pricing Guide 2026

Graded green cardamom weighed for wholesale pricing

Cardamom Wholesale Pricing, Explained Honestly

You won't find a fixed price list on this page, and that's deliberate. Cardamom is an auction-traded commodity — the rate moves week to week, and any supplier showing you a months-old printed price is either padding it or planning to renegotiate when you order. What we can do is show you exactly how your price gets built, so when you WhatsApp us for today's rate, nothing about the quote surprises you.

The Five Things That Set Your Price

1. Grade (this is the big one)

8.5mm pods carry 8–9.5% essential oil; 6–7mm pods carry 5.5–6.5%. That oil gap is why 8.5mm+ typically costs 40–60% more than tea-masala grade. You're paying per unit of aroma, not per unit of size. Full breakdown in the Grades Guide.

2. The harvest

A strong season softens prices; a weak one tightens them. We farm this ourselves, so we feel it first — and we quote from the current market, not last quarter's.

3. Season of purchase

October–March is peak harvest: best supply, steadiest rates. April–September stock is tighter and can run 5–10% higher. August is our biggest picking month — if you can time a large order around it, do.

4. Volume

Quantity Typical discount
10–50kg Standard rate
50–100kg ~5%
100–250kg ~8%
250–500kg ~12%
500kg+ 15–20%, negotiated

Mixed-grade orders count toward the same volume tier.

5. Payment and logistics

Upfront payment gets the sharpest rate. Extended terms and remote-area COD carry a small premium. Export orders add freight and documentation — quoted separately, no burying it in the per-kg price.

FAQ

Why is handpicked cardamom so much more expensive?

Only 10–15% of a harvest qualifies as 8.5mm+, and it's selected pod by pod, by hand. The price carries the 85% that didn't make the cut.

Can I negotiate bulk pricing?

From 250kg up, yes — genuinely. Tell us your volume and target and we'll give you our best number.

Is there a best time of year to buy?

October–March for supply and price stability; around the August harvest peak if you want the freshest large lots.

Do you offer payment terms?

NET 15/30 for established repeat buyers. First orders are upfront or COD — fair on both sides until we know each other.

How often do rates change?

Weekly or faster, with the auction market. That's why we quote live instead of publishing a list.
